IRA Charitable Distribution
The
Pension Protection Act of 2006 offers an exciting new giving
opportunity for seniors over 70. Under the new legislation a
Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), or donation, of up
to $100,000 can be donated directly from your IRA to a
charitable organization like Camp Summit completely
tax-free. When funds are distributed directly to the
charitable organization it fulfills the required minimum
distribution without being considered taxable income. Consult
your tax advisor for information on how this opportunity
might be beneficial for you and Camp Summit.
