Camp Summit Blog
Countdown to summer
The camp office is buzzing with activity - programs are being planned, staff is being hired, camper shirts/water bottles/journals are being designed, items are ordered for the camp store (and the ooo's and aaaa's of items when they arrive).
It is this exciting time of the year when you know summer camp is just around the corner. And while many of our campers may still be in school or our adult campers are working - we are just having a hard time containing the excitement.
This weekend is our annual Open House where we invite our registered campers and prospective campers to come and visit the camp facility. We will have tours of camp, a slide show to watch, staff and volunteers to meet and even a computer to complete your online registration.

Hands-on and Meaningful
When we are working to pay bills, not slowing down to appreciate what we have and what we can do for others we are left with days of monotony. Let's face it - there comes a point when we start to look for activities that are meaningful. For less "things" and more fulfillment from our daily lives.
Where can you volunteer, meet new people, get free lunch AND know that your efforts are appreciated?

Beyond Valentine’s Day
Last year a simple movement began. Three days before Valentine’s Day, Chief Innovation Officer for Acumen Fund, Sasha Dichter decided to convert the day into Generosity Day. The desire was to reconnect the day back to core idea of sharing love and human connection.
The response was overwhelming. With the help of social media outlets of Twitter and Facebook several million people were reached and the idea took hold. To Mr. Dichter, it was obvious that people wanted something more meaningful in their lives.
