ASSISTANT CAMP DIRECTOR
Camp Summit seeks a full time Assistant Camp Director. This dynamic individual will develop and implement year round camping programs for campers aged 6-99 years. Duties include hiring, coordinating & supervising our year round program staff. We provide residential camping experiences for children and adults who are developmentally delayed, physically challenged, deaf/blind multi-handicapped or multi-disabled with a wide variety and differing levels of disabilities from mild to profound. Requirements: A bachelor's degree in related field; Knowledge of people with disabilities is desired, but not required; Strong supervisory skills; Excellent organizational & multi-tasking abilities; Ability to work effectively with a diverse group; Ropes & Lifeguard certification or willing to be trained. Camp Summit hires approximately 75-90 employees each summer to fulfill a safe ratio of two campers to every one counselor. Most staff members live in the cabins (your "home away from home") with the campers during their one-week stay. Many of our staff are college students pursuing fields of human interest. We also work with international agencies to recruit personnel from all over the world. Benefits include salary, room and board, laundry facilities, and the experience of a lifetime!
Duties of all camp personnel
- Immediate care and welfare of the campers.
- Knowing and developing a relationship with each camper in your unit.
- Carrying out duties assigned by Assistant Camp Directors and immediate supervisor(s).
- Working with other counselors and staff cooperatively.
- Following camp standards, rules, and policies

Program Staff
Responsible for the planning and teaching of activities directly related to specific areas. Provide leadership and a cooperative environment, and follow through with assigned duties to the activity. Will also be assigned to work with a particular cabin unit and will fulfill counselor duties when responsibilities of activity area are complete, with the exception of the Program Director. Experience working with people with disabilities preferred. For some areas, must be twenty-one years of age.
