Organization Overview:

Camp Summit is a one-of-a-kind camp for individuals with disabilities where the emphasis is on each campers' abilities rather than their disabilities. Traditional camp activities are adapted to each individual, provided in our barrier-free facilities, and implemented by trained, caring staff. Our campers are grouped by age, providing the opportunity to make friends within peer groups while having fun and experiencing new adventures.


Report to Camp Director.  Supervise and coordinate all kitchen staff.  Keep abreast of food trends.  Obtain appropriate certification in Food Service management.  Keep all cabins, kitchen, lodge and other buildings cleaned.



  • Plan all menus with the assistance of the Camp Director for all camp sessions and rental groups.  Copies of menus must be kept in a “kitchen menus” notebook to be available for health inspections and ACA accreditation visits.

  • Order all food, with the approval of the Camp Director.

  • Check-in deliveries making sure that all items listed on invoices are included in the order.  Submit receipts to the corporate office for proper payment.

  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff and the scheduling thereof.

  • Take inventories as needed of all food supplies and kitchen equipment;  report needed repairs.

  • Oversee the cleanliness of all areas connected with the food services.

  • Food to be prepared in a sanitary manner, and served with appropriate sanitary methods.

  • Coordinate special plans for each camp session with assistant camp directors, camp director, etc. for the special diets, campouts, banquets, picnics, etc.



  • Responsible for cleaning all cabins, restrooms and other areas used during non-camp sessions.

  • Take inventory of all supplies needed for paper goods and household cleaning.  Order such supplies as needed.  Keep cabins stocked with supplies.


  •  Minimum of two years kitchen management or leadership experience 

  •  ServeSafe Certification
