Thanks for sharing your story with us Carla. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there. I loved being able to go camping as a child. I made sure I did everything I needed to do to be certain I had a place at summer camp. I learned how to be independent, work as a team, appreciate my surroundings, and I learned leadership skills without ever realizing how much I was learning. I guess you can say that camp really shaped me. My love of camp made me realize that camp was something EVERY child should have the option to attend. In high school, I worked with an adaptive P.E. program and I knew I wanted to pursue a career working with individuals with special needs. I also knew my heart was with camping. It has been a blessing to have these two passions come together in my work with Camp Summit...
