A.C.O.R.N. Program
(Agency Cooperative Outdoor Recreation Network)

A.C.O.R.N. is designed for groups that are ready to experience a weekend of camping or a day of nature study in a structured and barrier-free environment. A.C.O.R.N. programs are developed and led by the experienced staff at Camp Summit. The goal of the A.C.O.R.N. program is to develop partnerships with agencies, organizations and schools that make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.

The outdoor camping environment has had tremendous positive outcomes for people of varying ages, disabilities, disadvantages and various levels of functioning. Individuals participating in a camping program have exhibited high levels of enjoyment and an increased feeling of personal satisfaction. Being outdoors away from the hustle and bustle of the hurried city life can have a very impacting effect on the human spirit.
