Assistant Camp Director - Program

Camp Summit seeks full time assistant camp director. This dynamic individual will develop & implement year-round camping programs at our 460 acre, barrier-free facility, located in Paradise, Texas. Responsibilities include hiring, coordinating, & supervising our seasonal staff and volunteers, as well as to develop, deliver and expand the camp program. We provide residential camping experiences for children and adults who have developmental, intellectual, and physical or multiple disabilities, ranging in ages 6-99 years. Requirements: A minimum of one year’s full-time experience at camp. Knowledge of people with disabilities is desired, but not required; Strong supervisory skills; Superb communication skills; Excellent organizational & multi-tasking abilities; Ability to work effectively with a diverse group; Ropes, Archery, Horse & Lifeguard experience or willing to be trained. Receptionist

Report to the Chief Executive Officer. Responsible for initial greeting of the public & clients, routing all incoming calls, maintain accurate and confidential data records as assigned, maintain office equipment & supplies, and other general office duties. Position is in the Dallas office. Duties & Responsibilities: * Route all incoming calls to appropriate staff.  Conduct professional phone etiquette and communication at all times to the public and staff. * Process daily mail outgoing and incoming. * Oversee office supply orders, equipment service, and general office organization. * Assist with general office duties of other departments and other duties , as directed by Chief Executive Officer. Facilities Assistant

This individual will be responsible for operating and maintaining water and wastewater treatment equipment and swimming pool, ensuring compliance with state and federal operating regulations and documentation at our 460-acre, barrier-free facility, located in Paradise, Texas. Responsibilities include assisting with the general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and facilities; scheduling and performing routine maintenance on camp vehicles and department equipment; maintaining a routine for recording of standard checks of pool, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, dish sanitizers, HVAC units, smoke detectors, fire suppression systems, building inspections, groundskeeping, etc. Must have general knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, grounds, and equipment maintenance. 
 Must be able to climb ladders, paint, dig holes, move heavy machinery, problem-solve, and lift over 75 pounds. Healthcare Director

Camp Summit seeks a full-time Healthcare Director. This individual will implement a comprehensive program of health services for camp year-round. Responsibilities will include providing health services to campers and staff. Promote health education and preventive health practices for campers and staff through training and supervision of the camp's health and wellness policies and procedures. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise medical staff and volunteers. Educate and communicate with camper parents/caregivers on medical policies, procedures and well-being of their camper. Requirements include: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited university, RN in Texas, CPR/ First Aid Healthcare Provider Certification CPR Instructor Certification or able to obtain before the season begins. Benefits: health, dental and vision plans, paid vacation and sick time, and retirement plan. Private housing on site during the season included. Off-season hybrid work schedule available. Seasonal Staff

Camp Summit hires seasonal staff for each summer and fall season to fulfill a safe ratio of two campers to every one counselor. Most staff members live in the cabins with the campers during their one-week stay.

 

Many of our staff are college students pursuing fields of human interest. We also work with international agencies to recruit personnel from all over the world. Benefits include salary, room and board, laundry facilities, and the experience of a lifetime!

Age Requirement:  18+

Become a Volunteer Counselor

In addition to our seasonal staff, we have numerous opportunities for volunteers to work directly with our campers throughout the year.  Come spend a week during spring, summer, or fall.  Or volunteer for a weekend session!

Age Requirement:  16+

Volunteer Counselors must meet all of the requirements of our paid staff, including training, reference checks and a criminal background check.

We have volunteer opportunities for all interests. Host an activity for our campers, help with campground maintenance, volunteer for a special event, or assist in our office!
