Attending a Camp Summit Event, you can engage in friendly competitions at our sports tournaments, place bids on exciting items during our live auctions, and participate in our raffle, featuring generous donations from local businesses and supporters. From wine tastings to Texas Rangers’ tickets, there truly is something for everyone! Here are descriptions of some upcoming events that promise to be both enjoyable and impactful.

Annual Pickleball Tournament

As we transition into spring, we invite you to join us for our Annual Pickleball Tournament! This exciting event welcomes players of all skill levels, featuring a social league for casual chatting and fun, as well as a competitive division for those looking to take their game to the next level. It's sure to be a "dill" of a time, combining friendly competition with crucial fundraising for our campers just before the first official camp session.

Annual Golf Tournament

But if pickleball isn’t your forte, don’t worry! Swing into action at our Tournament at Topgolf! This fundraiser is designed for both experienced and novice golfers alike, ensuring fun for everyone, regardless of skill level! Unlike traditional golf tournaments, the area is air-conditioned and filled with delicious food, unique gameplay, and the chance to win amazing raffle prizes. Plus, there are always a camper or two to cheer us on! Take, for instance, our remarkable camper, Cindy, who has been part of the Camp Summit community for some time. She now thrives as a volunteer, assisting at special events and serving on committees. “Even with my challenges, the staff is so supportive of me,” she shares. “I love showing everyone that even with a disability, I can do and be part of a great event.

Boots and Bandanas

As we enter fall, our main event is Boots and Bandanas, where you can experience a night of dancing, delicious BBQ, and exciting auctions in the downtown Cedar District of Dallas. Our wine and fork pull are always a big hit, along with hearing stories from those whose lives have been changed by Camp Summit.

“Andrew is used to hearing ‘No’ over & over again. But during his numerous sessions at Camp Summit, he hears ‘Yes’ instead! Whether it’s racing down the zipline, splashing in the pool, or drumming in the Allegro Garden… he can do it all!” recounts the Brown Family, our Boots speaker from 2023.

In 2022, Camper Parent, Kathy Sibello shared, “Camp Summit is unique. There is no place like it for these incredible people. Here they are celebrated, honored, smiled upon, listened to, hugged, and valued.”

Every year at Boots, we dedicate a portion of our auction to giving, with the sole purpose of enhancing the camper experience. Through this dedicated gift, we aim to donate additional funds to specific causes that support and elevate our camp programs, ensuring that every camper has an unforgettable experience. In 2023, we had the opportunity to raise funds for our weekly dances, many campers’ favorite part of camp. “As a teen … those camp dances became the biggest event. They were by far his favorite. They also began teaching songs with sign language, and Ngo Minh loved having a new way to express himself.” shares Boots speaker Kathy Sibello from 2022. By raising money for disco balls, colorful lights, a DJ music system, and headphones for an exciting silent disco, we allow campers to enjoy music at their own pace while still being part of the festive atmosphere.

How do we use the funds we raise through events?

Without your support at these events, Camp Summit would remain just a dream for many of our campers. Funds raised through our events directly support our campers in the following ways:

24/7 Medical Care

Our campers rely on our dedicated medical staff to provide comprehensive daily living and medical care essential for their safety and enjoyment. With a 24/7 team that includes a Medical Care Director, four nurses, and an on-call doctor, we ensure that every camper has access to the care they need, allowing them to fully engage in camp activities without worry.

Support for Vulnerable Populations

Many of our campers come from vulnerable backgrounds, including those living in group homes or on Supplemental Security Income. They face financial barriers that would otherwise prevent them from attending camp. Our Campership and Financial Aid Project provides essential assistance to over 90% of our campers each year, enabling them to attend camp and experience life-changing adventures. Your support helps cover their camp fees, ensuring they can participate in transformative experiences alongside their peers.

Maintenance of Camp and Contribution to Camp Activities

Camp Summit is spread across 460 beautiful acres in Paradise, Texas, including a beach-entry pool designed for campers in wheelchairs, allowing them to safely enjoy swimming.
